Turkish Culture Minister Ertugrul Gunay attended the event, said Maria Nemeth. The ministers talked about longstanding historic and friendly relations between the two countries and the achievements in Turkish-Hungarian cultural links, she added.
Istvan Hiller said the Rakoczi museum was a bridge between the two countries' cultures.
The building was refurbished by Hungary's foreign ministry three years ago and now the museum has been modernised and expanded, using multimedia equipment to present the lives of Rakoczi and his entourage who lived in exile there in the 18th century.
During his visit in Turkey, Hiller also met Sekib Avdagich, head of the Istanbul European Capital of Culture agency's execution body. They discussed cooperation projects with the Hungarian city of Pecs which also holds the European Capital of Culture title this year.
