?Art cinemas offer equal cultural opportunities for European films,? Hungarian Motion Picture Foundation secretary Erzsébet Tóth said at a press conference to highlight the refurbishments at the Hrabal Cinema on Thursday. She added that the EU supports such theatres and aims to help them join the European network of art cinemas.
Tóth commended the Rómer House Foundation for launching the Hrabal Cinema project at a time when there is little money for such efforts.
The local council of Győr contributed HUF 4 million to the cost of refurbishing the cinema, and HUF 16.5 million came from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
