The show, which is coming from Vienna, includes about a quarter of the 290 etchings attributed to Rembrandt, said Reök Palace artistic director Róbert Nátyi. Among the works are self-portraits and portraits of family members, such as the artist?s wife and mother, as well as studies, genre etchings, Biblical scenes and a landscape, he added.
One of the highlights of the show is Rembrandt?s Adoration of the Shepherds from 1634.
The exhibition will run for two months. During that time, the Reök Palace will host several talks by art historians on Rembrandt?s work, screen a film inspired by the Dutch master?s life and stage a theatre performance.
