Renaissance Year 2008 to include 150 events

(MTI) - Starting on January 22, 2008, the Renaissance Year 2008 marks the 550th anniversary of the coronation of Matthias Corvinus, whose reign is considered one of the most glorious chapters of Hungarian history.
    Minister of Education and Culture István Hiller said the Renaissance Year 2008 series of events is not only a memorial celebration, but an opportunity to present a certain mentality and way of life, focusing on renewal, change and the constant rebirth of man.
    People of all ages and from all walks of life will find something interesting in the year-long series of event, the costs of which will be at least 1 billion forints, Hiller said.
