Ron Carter to Play Szeged Jazz Days

Carter, who has played on more than 2,000 recordings, will perform as a member of the Golden Striker Trio on November 4, the festival?s opening day. The trio?s other members are the pianist Mulgrew Miller and the guitarist Kevin Eubanks.
 
The first concert on the festival programme will feature local musicians, in line with tradition. The bassist MIklós Kiszin will be joined by the drummer József Bodó and the pianist Béla Szakcsi Lakatos Jr.
 
Elemér Balázs?s Brotherhood will also take the stage on the first day of the festival.
 
On November 5, the festival will take an avant-garde turn as the violinist Szilárd Mezei, who mixes elements of folk music and improvisation, is joined by his friends from Hungary and Vojvodina.
 
The performance will be followed by a concert by Mihály Dresch, playing in his quartet.
 
The festival will close with a concert by the guitarist Marc Ribot, a legendary figure from the New York underground scene, together with the bassist Henry Grimes and the drummer Chad Taylor.
