Both films are showing out of competition at the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF).
A critic writing in Monday?s issue of daily Vremya Novostey called ?Taxidermia? a ?neo-barbaric piece of cinema presenting three generations of Hungarians pursuing salaciousness.? The film?s ?extreme caricatures?, most notably of participants in an eating contest, show the weakness of man and his temptations, including lust, gluttony and his thirst for praise, all of which bring about his fall, the critic wrote.
Russian online magazine Utro writes ?Just Sex and Nothing Else? presents the opposite poll of Hungarian cinema. Utro calls the film, starring Sándor Csányi, currently Hungary?s most popular actor, a light and fresh piece of cinema.
?Relatives? another Hungarian film starring Csányi, has been included in the MIFF competition. The film, directed by István Szabó, will show on Friday, two days before the end of the festival.
