The refurbishment was carried out between 2001 and 2005 with nearly one billion forints in support from the Ministry of Culture.
The castle?s walls were repaired and renovated, and, in the trenches around the castle, earlier unused by the castle museum, a presentation of 17th century military engineering was set up. A playground for children, featuring catapults, large wooden horses, bridges and rope-ways was also built.
Battles will be stage at the site showing visitors military techniques of the time.
