Cozma was stabbed to death outside a nightclub in Veszprém in February 2009. Last June, the city?s court handed down two life sentences to the primary and secondary defendants in the case and a 20-year prison sentence to the third defendant.
The film?s first part, which came out the same year Cozma was murdered, focused on the handballer?s teammates, friends and coaches, as well as his father Petre Cozma.
?The court ruling reassured us that we were on the right path in the first part, because, as we showed in the film, it happened like this in reality,? said Kálomista. He added that he was curious to see whether the ruling would be upheld in an appeal.
The second part of the film will not be so much about sport, but about how Hungarian society reacted to the murder, how it processed it, he said. It will also revisit Cozma?s family and friends to hear from them after the court ruling, he added.
Professionals will not act in the second part, but they will speak about their roles in the first film, he said, adding that threats had been made against the actors because of the decision to accept their roles in ?Szíven szúrt ország?.
The screenplay for the second part of the film is being written ?in the service of justice?, Kálomista said.
