Danubius Fluvius features photographs, films, news reels and other documentation that shows the impact of the river on the region through which it flows.
The exhibition shows the Danube not as a metaphor, but as a living thing, said curator Tamás Kende, a historian from the Ferenczy Museum in Szentendre. It aims to make visitors re-think the relationship of the Danube with Hungary and Central Europe, he added.
The show includes images of the Danube from two well known Hungarian photographers: Ernő Vadas and Kálmán Szöllőssy.
The exhibition was prepared with the cooperation of more than a dozen museums and institutions in Hungary and Slovakia. It will show until March 12.
