Sludge flood - Charity concert in London yields over HUF 1m

(MTI) - The concert was given by young Hungarians studying or living in London, and organised by the British Hungarian Fellowship, the embassy and the Hungarian Cultural Institute in London.
The disaster was caused by toxic red sludge that escaped from the reservoir of the alumina factory of Ajka on October 4, killing ten people and injuring more than 150. It polluted and wiped out life in smaller rivers, but stopped short of causing environmental havoc on the Danube, Europe's second largest waterway.
