Smashing Pumpkins Releases EP Before Budapest Gig

English

The Smashing Pumpkins, whose sound brought alternative rock to a broader audience in the 90s, will perform in Budapest on January 29. The bank's EP American Gothic was made available for download from iTunes on January 2.

The acoustic EP includes the songs The Rose March (which the great Pete Townshend tried to convince Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan to put on Zeitgeist), Again, Again, Again (the crux), POX and Sunkissed.

Corgan will bring to Budapest the band's latest incarnation following a breakup in 2000. Jeff Schroeder, a member of Lassie Foundation, will play guitar, filling the shoes of James Iha, and Ginger Reyes will play bass, with a nod to her predecessors Melissa Auf der Maur and D'arcy Wretzky. The band's original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, who started out as a jazz musician, will join the set.
