Instead of closing on April 30, as originally planned, the exhibition, which presents five centuries of Spanish painting, will close on May 14. The museum?s management made the decision to extend the show after tallying 170,000 visitors since its opening in January.
Most of the more than 100 paintings in the exhibition are on loan from 13 collections in Germany, Vienna and Madrid. The exhibition features masterpieces by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya, as well as other important painters, such as Morales, Mazo, Murillo, Zurbarán, Ribera and Meléndez.
Under a new system, visitors can order tickets in advance to enter the exhibition at a certain time, sparing themselves a long wait in a queue. The advance tickets are available at 150 ticket offices in 50 towns throughout Hungary.
