Statue of 20th century Croatian writer unveiled in Budapest

(MTI) - The statute erected to Krezla, who also spoke Hungarian, has been donated to Budapest by its sister city, Zagreb.
    
Born in Zagreb, Krezla attended a preparatory military school in Pecs, S Hungary, with both cities being part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the time. He later attended the Royal Hungarian Ludovika Defense Academy in Budapest.
    
At the unveiling ceremony Milan Bandic, the mayor of Zagreb, stressed that erecting the statue is a symbol of strengthening his city's friendship with Budapest.
    
Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics and Budapest Mayor Istvan Tarlos attended the event.
