The unveiling ceremony was attended by some 1,500 family, friends, colleagues and admirers.
The statue depicts Kaszás stepping down from the stage and is called A Farewell to the Stage. It was created by local sculptor Péter Gáspár and financed with donations collected by Kaszás's former classmates.
The statue, located in front of the city's Jókai Theatre, was unveiled by the actors Károly Nemcsák and András Stohl, and dedicated by Pannonhalma Abbot Asztrik Várszegi.
Speeches were delivered by Révkomárom mayor Tibor Bastrnák and two of Kaszás's colleagues, the actors, Károly Eperjes and Péter Rudolf.
