The university will use the wings for its music institute, said university official Csaba Winkler. The main part of the synagogue, which underwent a 471 million renovation in 2005-2006, already hosts concerts and is home to an art collection. Central budget funding covered most of the costs of the project.
The synagogue is built in an eclectic style, showing elements of Art Nouveau and Historicism.
