Uri Ivgi?s rendering of the story takes place in a concentration camp. Eager to escape, Carmen seduces the guard Don José.
Tamás Juronics?s Carmen is set in the present. Carmen is nearly arrested at a wild party of the wealthy, but draws the police officer Don José into her grips.
The variations on the famous femme fatale will be performed at the Szeged National Theatre on December 2 and 3, and again at the National Dance Theatre on December 16.
