The festival, better known by its Hungarian acronym ?SZIN?, has become one of the country?s biggest music events since its revival in 2003. It combines performances by some of Hungary?s most popular bands with a rich lineup of international acts, a talent show, film screenings, talks and sporting events.

Adam Freeland started his career as a house DJ, mixing everything that was available to him: electric music, hip hop, and deep house. Now, Freeland has somewhat reshaped and clarified his concept, using three record players and a sampler.

The first four years of Freeland's career were not a big success, but, in 1996, his double mix record ?Costal Breaks? took off. Freeland enjoyed acclaim from music critics as well as his audiences, and some of music?s top DJs, among them Carl Cox, Sasha, Digweed, Andy Weatherall, and the Chemical Brothers, started calling him the next big thing.

In 1997, Freeland set up Friction Night in Bar Rumba in London's SoHo district with two of his friends, Rennie Pilgrim and Tayo. The venue?s success could be measured by the long queues for entry. Freeland's next big idea was a project with Kevin Beber, called ?Tsunami One Maxi Single?, which has become something of a legend. Remix requests from major artists, such as The Orb, DeeJay PunkRoc, The Headrillaz, and Junior Boys Own, soon followed.

In 1998, Freeland went on tour in Australia together with DJ Krush, Pressure Drop, and Jose Padilla. After his return home, Freeland released Costal Breaks 2 through React Records, which is also the company behind the Café del Mar series. Critics hailed the new album and a number of DJ publications billed it as the album of the month. Freeland was soon dubbed the "Nu Skool Breaks King," a title originally coined by Freeland and Pilgrim.

Transglobal Underground achieves a unique fusion of traditional Arab music, classical Indian music, Polynesian, Asian, and African rhythms and powerful irregular beats. Their revolutionary style has made the group a classic since the release of their debut album, ?Dream of 100 Nations?, released more than ten years ago. Transglobal Underground is well known for their spectacular live performances, which include stunning stage costumes, belly dancers and a group of Nepalese temple guards.

The Szeged Youth Festival will take place at the Újszeged Partfürdő in Szeged on August 23-26.
