The weekend?s big draw was a performance by the UK?s Radiohead, one of popular music?s most creative acts. The band arrived in a private jet, but their crew followed in three buses along with three semi-trailers filled with equipment for the two-hour gig. Some 50,000 people watched the concert.

Monday?s lineup included Hungary?s claim to hip-hop fame Sub Bass Monster on the Main Stage, followed by UK band Placebo, whose guitar sound has its roots in the music of the Pixies, Nirvana and Sonic Youth, as well as the glam rock presence of David Bowie and T Rex. On the Afro-Latin Stage, Brazilian bossa nova bands and Afro-Brazilian groups were the main attraction. On the Jazz Stage, Elsa Valle y sus hermanos gave listeners a taste of authentic Cuban jazz.

The programme for Tuesday, the festival?s last day, will include performances by Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Anima Sound System and the Prodigy. On the World Music Stage, Bea Palya and Besh o Drom will open for Afro Celt Sound System. The WAN2 stage will feature Hungary?s Pál Utcai Fiúk, while the Bahia Stage will host compatriot Péter Müller, of the band Sziámi.

Hungary?s biggest music festival has offered visitors more than music. A pool filled with a daily one hundred kilogrammes of chocolate has provided a sweet treat for those willing to take a dip. Germany?s Theater Titanic put on a weekend show entitled ?Firebirds? and French dance company Transe Express showed ?Flying Violins?, which features giant marionettes suspended from a crane playing musical instruments. Teatro de Autómatas, a satire of an earlier period using mechanical machines, is showing every day.
