Izaki Masahiro is no stranger to Hungary. He won the Hungarian Television Conductors Competition in 1995 and afterward appeared several times as a guest conductor in the country. He served as the musical director and conductor of the Szombathely Symphony Orchestra in 1998-2001.
Last year, he conducted a series of concerts by the Szakata Symphony of Japan and the Szolnok Symphony Orchestra in Hungary and Japan. Szolnok has a long partnership with the Japanese city of Szakata as well as with Juza.
