Végvári was a member of the National Theatre in Pécs, the Petőfi Theatre in Veszprém, and the National Theatre in Szeged. In Budapest, he was a member of the Thália Theatre, the National Theatre, the Katona József Theatre and the Örkény Theatre.
His most famous roles included the title role in Shakespeare?s Hamlet, Andrey Prozorov in Chekhov?s Three Sisters, the Actor in Stoppard?s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Fead, Herzl in György Tábori?s Mein Kampf and Sorin in Chekhov?s The Seagull. His last role was as Viktor Csermlényi in István Örkény?s play Cat?s Play.
Végvári acted in about a hundred television and big screen films and dubbed the voices of Al Pacino, Harrison Ford and David Attenborough.
Végvári was a member of the governing bodies of the Hungarian Actors? Chamber and the Hungarian Theatre Society.
The Örkény István Theatre and the MASZK National Acting Association expressed their condolences at the loss of one they considered their own.
