The film is one of 45 nominated for the acknowledgement by the European Film Academy. Among the other nominees are films by the directors Aki Kaurismäki, Lars von Trier and Pedro Almodóvar.
The awards will be presented in Berlin on December 3.
Tarr wrote the screenplay for ?The Turin Horse? with his long-time collaborator László Krasznahorkai. Ágnes Hranitzky was co-director and Mihály Víg wrote the soundtrack. Fred Kelemen was cameraman and Gábor Téni the producer. Erika Bók, János Derzsi and Mihály Kormos act in the film.
?The Turin Horse? is Hungary?s submission for Best Foreign Language Film at next year?s Oscars.
