Theatre Museum Puts Sets Centre Stage

English

The first exhibition will feature the work of Alexander Bilozub, a Ukrainian artist who has designed sets in Hungary and in Berehove, Ukraine. The show, whose curator is Zsuzsa Szebeni, will be opened by theatre director Attila Vidnyánszky.

Bilozub has worked closely with Vidnyánszky for a decade, raising the profile of his unmistakable work.

Vidnyánszky has called Bilozub?s work ?the vision of dreams? and said the artist was like an artistic ?twin?, ?full of poetry?.

The two first worked together in the National Theatre?s production of Bánk bán, in 2002. Their latest collaboration, a production of The Tragedy of Man by Debrecen?s Csokonai Theatre, opened on Friday.
