Since last week, visitors to www.transindex.ro and www.kjnt.ro can view more than 15,000 images from the region Transylvania, some from as early as the 1910s, said ethnographer Ferenc Pozsony.
The images, which were collected from private individuals, were digitalised with the help of the Elemér Jakabffy Foundation.
The Transindex website also contains scholarly works, maps and data on some 150 communities in Romania with large ethnic Hungarian populations.
