The choir won the Summa Cum Laude music festival?s prize in the treble choir category, sharing it with the Cantala girls? choir of New Zealand, the festival said in a statement.
The festival, which ran from Saturday until Tuesday, featured 36 ensembles from 19 countries, including the A Capella group from Kapuvár in Hungary.
About a hundred events were on the festival programme, some held in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The concerts in Vienna took place in Saint Stephen?s Cathedral, the Konzerthaus and the Schönbrunn Palace.
The Transylvanian choir was founded in 2005 by Gabriella Czakó and Vera Éva Nagy, volunteers of the order of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
