István Zombori said extraordinary interest in the exhibition had prompted the museum to extend it until April 6.

The 15,000th visitor was a fifth-grade pupil from a local primary school who arrived on a class trip. Teacher Ildikó Szűcs said the group was the last from their school to see the exhibition, adding that all 350 pupils at the school had visited the museum since the exhibition opened on February 18.

The 43 works on display show a broad sample of Vasarely's career. The works are on loan from the Vasarely museum in Pécs, the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest and private collections.
