Vasarely exhibition to open in Albania

The 122 op-art pictures and 35 other objects from the Csepei collection are on a tour of the Balkans organised by Hungary's foreign representations in Skopje, Pristina and Tirana, Sandor Molnari, Hungarian ambassador to Albania, told MTI. He added that organisers also received assistance from French embassies in the respective countries, since the artist lived most of his life in Paris.

 
The collection was last displayed in Sofia.
 
Vasarely, born in Pecs, (S Hungary, is internationally recognised as one of the most important artists of the 20th century. He is the acknowledged leader of the Op Art movement, and his innovations in color and optical illusion have had a strong influence on many modern artists.
