Thanks to a new ticket distribution system, visitors do not need to queue for lengthy periods despite the large interest, communications department spokesman Zoltan Levay said in a statement. Tickets issued for specific time periods are available over the internet at www.jegymester.hu and in 150 offices in 50 towns throughout Hungary, he added.
The paintings are on loan from 13 foreign collections, and have been insured for EUR 200 million, which makes the event a display of the most valuable works of art over the past few years, Director Laszlo Baan told journalists at the time of the show's opening.
The exhibition is the first of a series of similar events marking the 100th anniversary of the Museum of Fine Arts, opened in 1906 as the first museum in the country devoted exclusively to art.
