Vox Nova To Sing For Church Refurbishment

The church plans to refurbish the basement to create a congregational hall, with a capacity for 100 people, a small café, and classrooms for children?s Bible school. The basement is meant to serve as a Christian community centre for the benefit of all those in the district.

Vox Nova, made up of musicians from Budapest and its surroundings, celebrates its tenth birthday this year. The choir has received numerous invitations to perform in churches and concert halls in Hungary and abroad over the past several years. The choir has recorded several CDs, furthering its reputation, and boasts a 150-piece repertoire. The choir?s concert on 25 March will include adaptations of Biblical songs, spirituals and traditional church choral arrangements.

Vox Nova is conducted by Elvira Mátyus Szilágyi. Joining the choir are pastour Sándor Szilágyi, with Biblical meditations, vocalists Andrea Meláth, Ottó Meláth and Pál Kovács, flautists Christa Gellén and Mónika Sági, and organist László Révész Jr.

The First Hungarian Baptist Church is located at Wesselényi u. 53 in Budapest?s District VII.
