Skalska was born in Poland but has lived in the Netherlands since 1991. She studied at the Design Academy of Eindhoven, then at the Royal Academy of Fine Art & Design (Den Bosch). After graduation, she worked for Philips Design as trend analyst in the strategy department. She moved to VanBerlo, the largest design consultancy in Holland, in 2001.
Skalska gives lectures and conducts seminars at conferences all around the world. She has been a member of the Dutch Design Week board since 2004 and last year joined the advisory body of Design Cooperation Brainport. She is also a lecturer at the industrial design department of Eindhoven?s Technical University and one of the founders of the School of Form in Poznan.
The lecture in Budapest will launch the Design Week Festival.
