West Side Story, Peer Gynt Among Festival Highlights

The festival, which runs until August 18, will feature performances by the Gárdonyi Géza Theatre troupe, the Eger Symphony Orchestra, the Honvéd Dance Theatre, the Eger Festival Ballet, the Hungarian State Opera House Chorus, the Pécs Ballet and dancers from the MegaTánc television talent contest. West Side Story will be staged seven times between July 6 and 15. On July 26, the Pécs Ballet will perform the dance/thriller Bonnie and Clyde, and the Honvéd Dance Theatre will bring its rendering of Zoltán Kodály's Székelyfonó on July 28. A staging of Grieg's Peer Gynt, with Mari Törőcsik in the role of Aase, will take place on August 17-18.
An exhibition of photographs by Gábor Gál of the Gárdonyi Géza Theatre's productions will be displayed in the theatre's lobby during the festival.
