The ten-day event, which offers 800 concerts by 440 choirs, is facilitated and managed by a 19-strong Hungarian team, headed by conductor Gabor Hollerung. The choirs are going to demonstrate their abilities to the approximately 71 international jurors in 28 different categories.

The concerts have attracted 20,000 music fans from 93 countries, Hollerung told MTI.

The musical games were initiated in Hungary in 1988, dubbed Musica Mundi.

Two-thirds of the participants at this event are going to be children, teenager and young adults.
