The ensemble will perform several shows in Budapest on February 14-16 and one show in Debrecen, in Eastern Hungary, on February 19.

Yamato the drummers of Japan was founded by Masa Ogawa in 1993 in Nara, 'the land of Yamato', which is said to be the birthplace of Japanese culture. Now based in Asuka Village, the troupe travels all over the world with Japan's traditional Wadaiko drums.

"We put our very souls into these unusual instruments, whose sound stirs the hearts of people everywhere, and our performances are infused with the idea that the drumbeat, like the heartbeat, is the very pulse of life," the troupe writes on its website.

Yamato has performed more than 1,800 times in front of more than 2 million people.
