Balint Karosi won a 9,000-euro prize along with the distinction.
Karosi has started an international career, featuring at festivals and competitions in Switzerland, Germany, France, Ireland, the United States, the Czech Republic and elsewhere over the past few years. He has toured as a soloist with the Prague Chamber Orchestra and the Duisburg Philharmonics. He is also an active composer.
