Bozsik's troupe impressed with a reworking of The Magic Flute in 2006 and is following up with one of Verdi's most popular operas.
"Yvette Bozsik's La Traviata - which is set in the present - does not place the emphasis on the story, but on the representation of the human conflicts within it. The topic is female defencelessness, submission of the male possessive power and the fatal games played with them. Love, jealousy, despair, tragic death. These are the key words to the stripped down dance performance of La Traviata," the National Dance Theatre says of the production on its website.
