The film will be shot in the Zsolnay factory, the nearby cliffs of Tettye and the chapel of Havihegy, said director Zsolt Pozsgai. Parts will also be shot in Essen and Istanbul, which will share the 2010 European Capital of Culture title with Pécs.

The actor Áron Őze will play Vilmos Zsolnay in the film and Éva Auksz will play his wife. Zsolnay's father will be played by Gábor Koncz. Other actors in the production include György Kézdy, Sándor N. Szabó, Zsolt Lipics and Pécs National Theatre director Tamás Balikó.

The film will focus on a short but important period in Zsolnay's life: when he gave up his job as a shopkeeper and is put in charge of his brother's brick factory, where he discovers porcelain.

Pécs mayor Péter Tasnádi said the film would be the first ever made about the city and one of its most famous sons.
