András Cserna-Szabó Launches New Book

Magvető, Puszibolt's publisher, says the book is about "the residents of an imaginary city who leave unimaginable lives."

"The residents of this literary village each search for happiness, of course in their own way. They search for it in love, in truth, in the act of creation, in praise, in defeat, in intoxication, in death. But it's not only the kiss shop which is strange, but its merchandise: happiness, like a slimy, wriggling catfish that slips out of our hands when we grab it. Is it true that life exists that we should pass it by in silence? Or can we scream in pain in the meantime? András Cserna-Szabó's new book, which can be read as a novel, or as a collection of novellas, offers an answer to this pressing question at the end in a twist fitting of a crime novel."

Cserna-Szabó recently launched the book at an event in Budapest 's Szimplakert. The actors György Nagy Bajomi, Lívia Hábermann and Gábor Róbert read from the stories in the volume for the event.
