Hungary will take the EU presidency in the second half of 2011, at the tail end of the "trio presidency" started by Spain and Belgium.

From June 1, 2009, Schiffer will start preparing a world-class cultural introduction for Hungary, coordinated with his counterparts in Spain and Belgium, Hiller said.
"Hungary must start a process in 2011 which will also influence cultural life in the future," he added.
Schiffer said he would work to create a consensus among the representatives of Hungary's cultural life.
