Hungarian Director Takes Top Prize in Vila do Conde

The film, the first ever Hungarian short to take the main award at the festival, beat almost 50 competitors at the 17th international "Curtas" which ended on Sunday. The film also took the Onda Curtas award from Portuguese public television broadcaster RTP.

 
The History of Aviation premiered as part of the Directors' Fortnight during the 42nd Cannes Film Festival.
 
The 15-minute period film, set in Normandy in 1905, was produced by Tamás Hutlassa and György Durst. The cinematographer was Mátyás Erdély.
 
 The History of Aviation will next show in competition in Sarajevo in August.
