The "soap opera" is an initiative of the Hungarian embassy in Beijing and the Balassi Institute, with the involvement of Chinese partners. It shows events in the life of a Chinese woman who has married a Hungarian man. The characters make extraordinary discoveries in each other's far-away culture, but are also forced to face differences in world view and culture, said culture attaché at the Hungarian embassy in Beijing Gábor Nagy.
The television series is expected to be a breakthrough in cultural relations between Hungary and China, Nagy said. It will show Chinese viewers a country that is home to the largest number of Chinese nationals in the region, and it will present Hungarians with a unique look at a country that many of them no little about.
