The Cartoon Forum seeks to raise the profile of European animated film series. Since it was established 20 years ago, the event has been instrumental in channelling some EUR 1.5 billion in support to more than 400 animated series.

Artists will show more than 60 film treatments to producers and television broadcasters in Sopron. The French are bringing the most projects, 21, followed by Hungary and the UK, with seven projects apiece.

Films at the event will vie for the Cartoon d?Or prize. The Hungarian animated film maker Géza M. Tóth will be on the three-member jury for the prize.

The co-organisers of Cartoon Forum in Hungary are the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME) and Studio Baestarts.

The Cartoon Forum in Sopron is supported by the Hungarian Motion Picture Foundation, the National Media and Telecommunications Authority and the National Resources Ministry.
