Hannu Marttila, senior literary critic at Finland's biggest daily Helsingin Sanomat, and the writers Rax Rinnekangas and Tommi Melender discussed the life work of Kertész while reading excerpts from Galley Diary.
After the event, Finnish public television's cultural channel YLE Teema showed the Hungarian film Fateless, based on Kertész's novel of the same name.
Galley Diary, first published in 1992, was translated into Finnish by Outi Hassi and published by Otava.
The book launch marked the start of a series of literary events being organised by the Hungarian Culture Institute in Helsinki.
