A new commissioner in charge of fostering Hungarian-Chinese ties as well as overseeing the World Expo in Shanghai will not be appointed after András Huszty?s mandate expires, because the outgoing government failed to officially hand over the tasks related to the world fair, the ministry said.
Cecília Szilas of the Foreign Ministry will serve as Gál?s deputy.
State secretary in charge of culture Géza Szőcs will head the Hungarian delegation to represent the country at the Hungarian day to be held at the World Expo on Sunday.
The ministry said that the State Audit Office was carrying out an audit of the Hungarian pavilion at the World Expo, including payments made to subcontractors. It has so far revealed that the government had fulfilled all payment obligations for cultural programmes, the statement added.
