The Finnish exhibition will feature works by 16 artists, works that have never before been shown in public or have not been exhibited for a very long time.

Another exhibition will show portraits by the Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn and by photographers whose images record the social history of the 1930s and 1940s, such as Kata Kálmán, Walker Evans and Theo Frey.

The Ludwig Museum will show a retrospective of the Hungarian Attila Csörgő, who takes art photographs with cameras he designed himself. Csörgő has an international reputation, but is little known in Hungary.

The museum will also show a solo show of installations and paintings by Pál Gerber.

A group exhibition of Danish, German and Polish artists who explore the different faces of modernism in Western and Eastern European works of art, and a retrospective of Amerigo Tot are also on the Ludwig Museum's programme.

The Ludwig Museum will start working with the Palace of Arts, which shares the building it is house in, on a combined performance and museum ticket, said museum director Barnabás Bencsik.
