Pécs to Host Balkan Music Festival

Organised under the aegis of Pécs's European Capital of Culture 2010 title, the event will be part of the Heritage Festival - Pécs Days 2007, which will take place on September 13-23. On the programme for East-West Corridor - Balkan World Music Festival 2007 will be performances by Ajde Braco, Ferus Mustafov, Félix Lájkó, Jewel Brown, Erzsi Kiss, Erika Marozsán, Bea Palya, Vujicsics, Ithikon Akmeotaton and Golestan.

 
To coincide with East-West Corridor, Pécs has organised the First Meeting of the International Interdisciplinary Conference at the Corridor to the Balkans. The conference, to take place on September 14--6, will feature many well known participants, among them Ágnes Heller, Richard J. Bernstein, Mihály Vajda, Jolán Orbán and János Boros.
 
The Heritage Festival will also include a fine arts programme: the Zsolnay porcelain factory will host an exhibition of works by arts students as well as another by Ildikó Hetesi entitled Camouflaged Message.
