Four Hungarian contenders are from Budapest, they include the Lanchid 19 design hotel overlooking the landmark Chain Bridge, the attached lab and office buildings of 100-year-old drugmaker Richter Gedeon, a district council-run downtown housing block and new residential buildings at the Danube's Kopaszi-dyke in the capital's south.
The other three are a studio house of the Szechenyi University of Gyor(NW), the new picture gallery of the town of Paks(C) and the Holy Trinity Church in Godollo northeast of Budapest.
The 60,000-euro award, granted every other year, will be presented in the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona in May.
