The 72 photographs, provided with English, French and German captions, depict the key moments of the historic event, including the exodus of East German refugees to the West through the two countries' common border.
The exhibition was initiated by Hungary and realised with an Austrian and a German help. Zoltan Szabo, head of Hungary's CoE delegation, noted that the release of East German refugees had been a crucial moment in the European chain of events. Austrian MP Gisela Wurm said Austria had benefitted from the reunification of Europe, enabling it to recover its central place in Europe. Bundestag member Joachim Hoerster said the photographs would be displayed in the Reichstag in autumn.
