Inductees into the group, picked in a public vote, included Ági Margitai and Ildikó Hámori, in the most-popular-actress category, and János Kulka and János Gálvölgyi in the most-popular-actor category. Magda Kalmár and Anatoli Fokanov were inducted in the opera singer category, and Ildikó Pongor and Gyula Harangozó Jr. were selected in the dance category.

The gala programme on Saturday included performances by actress Éva Almási, singer Zsuzsa Koncz and pianist Tamás Érdi, as well as special productions by Eger's Gárdonyi Géza Theatre and the Miskolc National Theatre. The programme will be rebroadcast on Hungarian Television.

The ?Group of Immortals? was set up in 1996, the brainchild of television personalities Katalin Szegvári and Sándor Érdi. Performers earlier inducted into the organisation include such famous names as Irén Psota, Nóra Tábori, Ferenc Kállai, Miklós Gábor, András Kern, István Avar, Juci Komlós and László Seregi. Members of the ?Group of Immortals? may leave their footprints in Budapest?s Nagymező utca, the capital?s equivalent of Broadway.
