Federal Cultural Foundation Invites Applications for Funding for Hungarian-German Projects

The application deadline is March 31, 2006. The funds may be used during the 2006/20 cultural season.

Bipolar is a German Federal Cultural Foundation initiative designed to give new impulse to Hungarian-German relations. Bipolar aims to encourage contemporary artists and cultural organizations to join the European network of cultural cooperation through their work and projects.

Three topics have been highlighted in the invitation for funding: The Future of Utopia -- Are there any inspiring new sources for utopia thinking in the broad sense? The Desire for Normalcy -- Is customary normal? And Social Memory and the Culture of Remembering: Common stories untold or half-told: Are there any common stories beyond extreme historical experiences that are worth handing down?

The Bipolar professional jury, made up of German and Hungarian experts, will give preference to projects with potential for long-term cooperation, as well as those based in smaller cities and towns.
