The prize is an acknowledgment of outstanding success at competitions and festivals over many years.
 
The choir will be awarded the prize during the 60th International Choir Competition in Arezzo on August 22-29,
 
The Cantemus Children?s Choir was established in 1975. It is one of four choirs of the Zoltán Kodály Primary School of Nyíregyháza. The choir is headed by the Kossuth Prize winner Dénes Szabó.
 
The choir has toured around the world and garnered more than twenty international awards. It was the recipient of the grand prize of the For Hungarian Art Foundation in 1989 and the Bartók-Pásztory award in 1993.
 
Two other choirs ? the Madrigal Singers from the Philippines and the Girls? Choir of Estonian Television ? will also be presented the Guidoneum Prize in Arezzo.
